Getting started
1 Logging in for the first time
- Username - your email address. They’re the same, so just enter your email address.
- Your temporary password arrives in a separate email from support@gksed.com.
- When you first log in, you’ll be asked to set your own new password.
2 Didn’t get the password email?
This is the most common issue - and it’s almost always your email provider, not your account. Work through these in order:
- Check your spam / junk folder.
- Add support@gksed.com to your safe senders list.
- On a work email, ask your IT team to whitelist *@gksed.com. Company mail servers frequently block our messages - this is the single most common reason an email doesn’t arrive.
- Still stuck? Use the “Forgotten your username or password?” link on the login page.
Your username is your email address, so choose only one option when requesting a reset. If your company blocks our emails entirely, you’re welcome to register with a personal email instead - just let us know.
3 First things to do after logging in
Before you start, open your profile and check two things:
- Your name - first, middle and last - spelled exactly as you want it on your certificate. Please double-check the spelling.
- Your date of birth - required by Highfield for the Level 3, Level 5 and NCS4 courses. Without it we can’t issue your certificate.
4 Where to get help
For login, access or any technical issue, email support@gksed.com. Email is the quickest way to reach us and goes straight to the IT team - please use it rather than a personal email address.
Frequently asked questions
1My login or password doesn’t work
Log in using your registered email address as the username. Copy the temporary password from the support email carefully - make sure there are no extra spaces or characters. If you still can’t get in, use the “Forgot your username or password?” link on the login page (use one option only).
2I didn’t receive any email from the system
Check your spam/junk folder first. If it’s not there, the cause is almost always your email provider blocking us. Ask your IT department to whitelist *@gksed.com (this covers support@ and any no-reply@ address too). If your company blocks external mail completely, register with a personal email address instead.
3I can’t see my course / I think I’m on the wrong one
You can only access the courses you’re registered for, individually or through your company. To see everything on your account, go to your course list - it shows every course you’re enrolled on.
If you see “You cannot enrol yourself in this course” at the bottom left of the screen, you’ve opened the wrong course - go back and select the correct one.
4My access has expired / I studied a while ago and can’t get back in
No problem - access can usually be reinstated. Email support@gksed.com and include:
- the email address you originally registered with, and
- your original course invoice - or, if you took an in-class course, roughly when and where.
That lets us find your record and restore your access.
5How does the course work? What do I do next?
Every course is 100% online and self-paced, with no time limit to complete. Learning modules include:
- Lectures - the core video content.
- Resources - slides and supporting documents.
- Discussion Forum - ask questions and share insights with other learners.
- Background Materials - extra reading, where available.
Work through the lectures at your own pace. When you’ve finished you’ll be ready for the final assessment, and after you pass you keep access to the materials as a living library.
6I want to ask about a lecture or topic
Please use the Topic Discussion Forum for the relevant lesson rather than emailing. That way our answers are shared with everyone and all learners benefit from the questions raised.
7What is the assessment like, and how do I get my certificate?
Everything about the assessment is explained in the first module of your course (the Course Introduction) - take a look there before you start. In short: once you’ve completed the lectures, you take an online assessment.
Before you finish, check that your profile name and date of birth are correct - your certificate is issued by Highfield using exactly those details, and corrections after it’s issued are subject to an administrative charge.
8Something isn’t working - how do I report a technical fault?
First, try the same material on a different device to see if the problem repeats. If it does, email support@gksed.com with your operating system, device type, country, a short description (plus any error message) and a screenshot. The more detail you include, the faster we can fix it.
9How do I find out about updates and news?
Check the Announcements section of your course for important updates and notices.
10Who do I contact, and how quickly will I hear back?
For anything technical - login, access, faults or the assessment - email support@gksed.com. Email is the quickest way to reach the team and goes straight to IT support.
